The Brief

PwC uses a holistic approach to consulting on its customers' internal and external processes, improving efficiency, creating better working environments for employees, and reducing costs. Areas such as a company’s supply chain, Finance department, Human Resources, Reporting, Data, and much more are improved through the implementation of software such as S4 HANA, SuccessFactors, and Workday. Driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a noticeable push toward Cloud Technology and the Digitalisation of companies’ operations for some years now, creating demand for consultancies' expertise, in turn allowing PwC the opportunity for growth.

PwC required a high volume of the very best local SAP SCM Talent that could support its clients' digital transformations in each of the areas mentioned above. Each hire would form part of a strategic plan that focused on developing internal departments and teams to further grow PwC’s footprint in the Digital Transformation space. A particular focus on diverse candidates that could blend with PwC’s culture would be paramount to a successful hiring campaign. In addition, each hire would need specialist skills and expertise that could support unique projects in niche fields.

The Solution

Uniting Ambition worked closely with several Partners, Directors, and Senior Management at PwC to understand PwC's employer brand, culture, growth and succession plans. This project scoping formed the basis of our hiring strategy, along with an understanding of which skills and experience would be needed within each department.

Uniting Ambition deployed its team of subject matter experts across the SCM function. The team started by searching through Uniting Ambition's active talent pools, a selection of candidates who had been pre-screened in the previous three months, allowing delivery of a relevant and trusted shortlist of Talent in a matter of days.

Where more complex searches were needed, the team utilised its best in class tech stack to map the market to locate local SAP SCM Talent and head hunt relevant passive candidates who are not visible to the market.

Uniting Ambition also leveraged its wider community of professionals, who are regularly engaged through surveys, polls, email newsletters, and social media activity. Uniting Ambition’s marketing department was pivotal here, producing email campaigns, local job adverts, and consulting on employer branding and social media activity specific to PwC's hiring activity.
